Well I made it, the sugar addiction is gone! Yeah!!!! In my previous post I told you that I was going to California on business and it was going to be tough because they have all these fancy desserts and yes they were all over the place. But I had decided I was SICK of the negative side effects of excess sugar and yes maybe that gives you even more hope that even if the sugar addiction specialist doesn’t pay attention she can be right back into another sugar addiction.

One of the things that motivated me the most to stop eating sugar was I realized I was so distracted all the time, I couldn’t think straight and it was really affecting my business.

It was a sad thing to admit that I had started eating sugar again but that is the first step right? The key is to keep getting back up, don’t just stay down there and beat yourself up, pull yourself off the floor, dust yourself off, put your shoulders back and your head held high and tell yourself, “I can do this!” Yes that is where I think we need to get to overcome this addiction.

The great thing is I can attest that my sugar cravings are completely gone and my sugar withdrawals are completely gone. Thank God! I got real irritable for about a week which that has not happened before, usually I get kind of sad coming off sugar, those are all signs of a sugar detox. But I know they go away, that is who you can have confidence, don’t freak out and think you will always feel like that, because they do go away!

Maybe you want to take a quiz to see if you really are even a sugar addict, click here to take the quiz to self-diagnose yourself.

If you haven’t read my story and maybe you are new to this blog, I was a addicted to sugar for 30 years, overcame it about 3 years ago and found myself back into sugar for the last few months. Not good. You can read about my story here or watch a short video on YouTube about it.

Whatever you do, make a decision that you are SICK of the negative side effects too. The flavor and “high” can only carry you so long, then there is the psychotic crash of feeling weird, can’t focus, anxious, moody, headaches, hot flashes, the list goes on and on! For a few minutes of pleasure? No thanks!!!!

You might be fed up like I am and maybe you are ready to take some serious action! You can do the program I just back in myself and actually this is exactly my 14th day with NO SUGAR! Yeah, I made it and you can make it too! But it doesn’t stop there you keep going. So you are going to see some good posts about my journey too. If you want to do the program I just did then check this out to overcome your sugar addiction too, its SO worth it! : )

Okay I admit it, the Sugar Addiction Specialist found herself back into sugar again, which contributed to all kinds of sugar cravings. Oh my! I am human though, just because I am an expert doesn’t mean I won’t struggle too sometimes. But I will say it was NOTHING to level of what I used to struggle, this time was more like a little bit here and there became too much sugar and I was pushing the limits of being back into a sugar addiction again!

Actually that is what helps me be an expert so I can really know what you are dealing with too. So I am on Day 9 of NO sugar and wow, do I feel great! My sugar cravings are GONE, I can thinking more clearly, I have more energy, I wake up more refreshed instead of feeling tired.

I will admit though, coming off sugar this time has been interesting because I have felt weird sometime during each day. I am also really connecting it to what I eat or drink because once you get the junk food out of your body, you are much more sensitive to how food affects you and how certain food affects your sugar cravings and your sugar withdrawals if you are eating refined carbs.

For example, I normally don’t eat white flour or products made with white flour however I am on a business trip traveling on the other side of the continent (from Florida to California) and whole grain is not as readily available when you travel.

So a few times I have had some white flour products and boy do I notice how I feel! About an hour after, I just start to feel weird and it can last a few hours… totally NOT worth it.

Why is that happening? A few reasons… one, my blood sugar levels are affected and two those products are devoid of nutrition and have chemicals in them. I also think some of these things have been sugar detox symptoms.

So honestly, I am going into my toughest setting. I have two days of meetings with a mastermind group and they give us all kinds of free food including hosh posh desserts. So in the past, when I wasn’t eating sugar, I might have a tiny bit or nothing at all but when I came here in January I was eating it and I had more then I needed to.

Which leads to more sugar cravings, dah!

So I will need to really buckle my seat belt and apply all the things I have done myself and I teach you. So here it goes, I am glad I am not having sugar cravings now though! Hey if you want to see what level of sugar cravings you have, you can even click this link to take a quiz…

I wanted to give a detailed response to a question on I had on one of my you tube videos about sugar cravings and fruit. This is the you tube video….

This is the question:

When you speak about sugar, do you mean also sugar that comes from fruit? because would it be so bad (the addiction) that when i come to eat fruit like oranges or pineapple, i begin craving it again…..binging on anything that has sugar in it, even though, fruit!, eating fruit! it’s supposed to be healthy right? so….what’s up with that? am i supposed to cut off fruit also to get rid of that sugar craving? thanks!

Here is my response:

Hi! Samantha here and I wanted to answer your question. You have to read YOUR body. If you eat fruit, it makes you crave sugar and you go off the deep end with sugar, then you probably shouldn’t eat fruit.

I don’t eat fruit because I’m starving all day and tend to eat twice the calories!

Yes fruit is healthy but it does have fructose which in certain people’s bodies, it can spike your insulin levels more than “they” say it does. So you be the judge.

Also when something sweet hits your tongue your brain can think its sugar, so that can be psychological cravings too. Especially if you have been a sugar addict for quite some time.

The other thing to think about is the type of fruit you are eating because some fruit spikes blood sugar levels more than others. For examples of the ones that do more are bananas, grapes, pineapple (which you mentioned) and dried fruit. Those can cause you crave sugar more than a plum or pear or orange. Have a great day and stay determined to overcome those sugar cravings!

I would also recommend you take my quiz to see if you really are a sugar addict or to see the level of cravings you do have, click this link. : )

Yes, its true, both my grandma’s are drug dealers and they are were pushing for my sugar cravings. They didn’t know it but they were both contributors to the 30 year sugar addiction I had. Was it their fault? No but they sure didn’t help.

For example, this picture was just taken this weekend, I was at my grandmas ranch in Sebring, FL. She is going to be 92 and is a little fire cracker! She has an entire fridge full of chocolate and when I say, full, I mean full. I am talking all kinds, I won’t mention which kind but it is just full.

So when you go over there, every time you get up to go to bathroom or get a drink of water she will chime in, “Go get some chocolate. Make sure you get some candy.” She is a sugar peddler, pushing that sugar onto all that walk into that house and she has been that way ever since I was a child, which totally contributed to my early sugar addiction and sugar cravings.

My sister and I used to sneak into the kitchen in the middle of the night, mix the cake mix and eat it in a bowl on the floor! If you have never done this, trust me, many sugar addicts have!

So why do I say she is a drug dealer? Because sugar has been shown to act like a drug in the body, here are some of the sugar withdrawal symptoms. And you can read how your body has a sugar addiction detox.

Do you think its odd to call sugar a drug? I used to think so too until I looked the definitions of what a drug is.

Maybe you don’t even know if you have a sugar addiction or sugar cravings that are over board, but if you take this quiz you can find out.

I was shocked when I was in church on Easter today and heard of Thomas Kinkade’s death. Mostly because I know he is a young guy and that he is one of the most popular artist’s in this nation, it is said that 1 in 20 people have one of his paintings hanging in their homes.

I also was saddened because he was an amazing painter, called ”The Painter of Light” not only because he was a Christian and many times painted Biblical messages into his paintings but also because of the pastel colors he used and magnificant displays of color.

So what does this have to do with a sugar addiction? Well unfortunately, after looking into it, which I did not know, apparently Thomas Kinkade had a challenge with alcohol and was known to ”really eat”, if you know what I mean. Also by his pictures I see that he is overweight.

My point about mentioning Thomas Kinkade’s death is that our choices have consequences. Here this guy was an AMAZING painter, it is said his paintings were bringing in 100 million in sales a year, yet he is dead as of Good Friday, Apil 6th 2012. Its odd, its just bizarre all of these famous people that have died lately from Whitney Houston to Michael Jackson, to now Thomas Kinkades’ death.

If you want to read my personal story of how I came to know God, click here.

They are going to do an autopsy Monday to find the real cause of Thomas Kinkade’s death but right now its stated its natural causes. Well from what I read about him and by what I see by looking at him, it will be highly unlikely it was not related to the choices he possibly made on a daily basis with food or alcohol.

Our choices afffect our outcome in life and Thomas Kinkade had so many more amazing paintings he could of painted and now he is gone from this earth forever! What is your destiny God has you fulfilling? What will not be done if you die early because of your choices? Who and what family members will be left behind to suffer your loss?

Yes you do have to get sick of a sugar addiction before I think you will really do anything about it. It is really that way with any addiction. The thing is, sugar tastes good, it changes your moods, some of you get high from eating it, then crash. There are things we like about it but until we look at the negative side of it, as part of the whole package, its hard to even think about giving that substance up, isn’t it?

I know because I was a sugar addict for over 30 years and worked on overcoming the addiction to sugar for about 6 years. Now I am in a place where I am learning how to stay away from it and not let it creep back into my life. It is sneaky, I tell you. One “innocent” cookie here, another “harmless” donut there, then all the sudden, BAM! You are right back to struggling. Do you know what I am talking about?

Maybe you aren’t totally sure and you wonder if you are even have a sugar addiction, take this quiz to find out.

You do have to get fed up though, fed up with the ups and downs, the hot flashes, headaches, weight gain, anxiousness and lack of mental focus. The list goes on and on! I encourage you to get serious about this sugar addiction and do something about it by getting fed up and saying, “I am NOT going to take this anymore!!!!” If you want help with your sugar addiction, you can see if my 14 day solution is right for you by clicking here.

I Admit, I just ate Sugar! " width="300" />
Sugar Addiction no more

Okay so here I am, this is my blog so I am real with what is going on in my life about my previous issue with a sugar addiction and any current things I might be dealing with. I am actually, right now typing on my laptop at 1 am on the internet while my husband is driving, we just left this amazing horse/acrobat show called Cavalia and its almost a 6 hour drive back home (still funny to me you can be on the internet while you are in a car traveling 70 miles an hour!).

If you don’t know me, I WAS a sugar addict for most of my life, about 30 years. I am 37 now and started to have victory over the last few years, that is why I started writing in this blog which now there are about 9,000 people that read it a month now, that is awesome!

Yet, it saddens me a little because that means you were probably searching the words sugar addiction or sugar cravings. I am happy you want to do something about this problem because it sure is like a prison when you are addicted to sugar, but I feel your pain in dealing with this addiction because that part is very difficult and gets SO OLD!

So I am writing this post because I had sugar today and because it I have like these weird anxiety pains in my chest. Yes that happens when I have sugar and I haven’t had it for awhile. That is also a side effect of a chemical that is actually known to be poisonous, yes sugar can be toxic and there are REAL sugar withdrawals and a sugar detox.

Now since I don’t have sugar very often my body really feels it in more ways then one. Sure I do get that initial “high” or “rush” but honestly that is not why I eat it sometimes. I eat it rarely and its more about the flavor to me then the rush. I also like to have balance in my life and not live in a legalistic mindset that I can’t ever have sugar again since I USED to have a sugar addiction. And yes, sugar can taste good, we all know that!

But the key is knowing I used to have a sugar addiction and guarding myself if I do have it. So what happened tonight? I knew I was going to a place that was going to have a dessert buffet (which is NOT something I recommend EVER subjecting yourself to if you are still struggling with a sugar addiction).

So I let myself take a few pieces of different things to try them (they were like those little mini desserts, not whole pieces). One thing I have learned is that if it doesn’t taste AMAZING, I STOP eating it…I do not eat anymore. That has really helped me big time in being able to just take a few bites and stop eating it.

So I had a tiny bite of a few different things and they looked better then they tasted (that’s how it is most of the time with me and sugar anyway anymore – I did NOT used to be like that).

The cool thing is I did throw away about 70% of what was on my plate (not that I am in to wasting food but when it comes to sugar, I would much rather just throw it away instead of eat it). So I was happy about that.

However, the small amount I had, honestly was equal to about 3 or 4 cookies, man I can feel it! I am talking about the negative side effects. What are they?

1) Feel anxious

2) My chest is tight, like a heaviness in the chest, not really chest pain but it can feel piercing at times although its not near my heart.

3) I had a hard time sitting still and enjoying the show, that was annoying. I had a hard time relaxing which is totally sad I did that to myself since I drove almost 6 hours to see this show!

4) Feel kind of sad.

As I write all those things, I think its stupid I even ate any of that but honestly sometimes it can be good for me to be reminded how much I really don’t like that stuff!

So what is my plan to make sure this one time event doesn’t turn into another sugar addiction?

The key I have learned is to remind myself of the entire experience, like all the things listed above, not just the flavor but the WHOLE experience. The other key is to NOT let myself have it over these next 3 days. That is one of the number one keys I have learned to not letting a one time sugar event turn into being a total sugar addict again!

Please understand, I do NOT even recommend you attempt having sugar if you are fresh off your sugar addiction. Many of you are on my 14 day program of how to break your sugar addiction and if you aren’t and want to know more, you can read about that here, but if you are literally in the first month or two of overcoming a lifelong sugar addiction, don’t play with fire, don’t even think you should be able to handle something like this, this fresh. You have to give it some time.

So hopefully you can learn from my experience today. I will be getting home about 4 am and will probably still be so wired I won’t be able to go to sleep, since I had coffee too! If you want to take a quiz to see if you even really struggle with a sugar addiction, you can click here.

When I was in the midst of my sugar cravings, I sure didn’t think they would ever go away but the good news is THEY DO! When you get sugar out of your body, and yes you might have a slight sugar addiction detox, then you typically won’t crave sugar anymore (unless you have somethings out of whack with the chemicals in your body).

The challenge is, when you are eating sugar all the time, you will crave it like crazy. You will crave sugar but then never be satisfied. Do you know what I am talking about?

Its a frustrating cycle that seems to go around and around, crave sugar, eat it, be okay for a little while, then have more sugar cravings. Over and over. Are you sick of this cycle? You have to get sick of the tortorous rollar coaster ride before you will do anything about. You can certainly see the 14 day solution I came up with to help break the sugar addiction by clicking here.

I didn’t get off the rollar coaster until I got fed up with how sick I really felt….mentally, emotionally and physically. Some like rollar coasters but imagine it was one that actually made you sick and you could never get off the stupid thing. Maybe you need to take the quiz to see if you even are addicted to sugar, you can click here to take the quiz.

I am AMAZED at how when you get it out of your system, you do NOT crave it. You could actually walk right by it and not even crave it. Now, keep in mind, your mind from habits might think, “Oh, that looks good.” Then you remind yourself that you don’t eat that anymore because you don’t want to feel like crap and you keep walking.

The difference is, its not like this pull on you, like you feel like you have to eat it. You could take it or leave it. That is an amazing place to be with no longer having sugar cravings control your life.

I am going to show you some of my old personal journal entries in the midst of my food and sugar addictions.

This was about 7 years ago, wow, its been a long time since I was a real food addict and since I mentioned how many visitors I am getting a month now, I want to THANK YOU. I put this blog up just to see how many of you struggle with sugar addiction and wow, 9114 a month are searching help for this!!! SO have encouragement, my friend, you are NOT alone! There are MILLIONS of sugar addicts out there and I USED to be one of them. And I don’t miss that torture for a second!

Here we go, keep in mind, these are my personal journal entries so I am bearing my soul here….get ready to probably see part of yourself in here…..buckle your seat belt and start reading….you will probably laugh and shed a tear because its also your voice crying out in here that you hear….

Journal Entries of Struggling with Sugar Cravings

“I got to my sister’s and there was this huge ice cream chocolate creation in the freezer. I just reacted when I saw it and ate it. I even had my healthy sweets with me. Then, I said, ‘Screw it. I’ve already messed up.’ And ate a bunch of Oreos TM! I really want to be able to not do that anymore. Next time, I need to stop immediately and say, ‘No! That is the old me.’ And pray for God to give me strength. ” 2-9

“It’s Valentine’s Day, so I told myself I could have lots of chocolate. Now I feel sick and I’m going to lie down. Boy, great way to love myself.” 2-14

“I really wanted something fattening from a restaurant to go. Then I started to think about how I could just get Subway TM and how that would be a great choice. I pulled into Subway TM parking lot, still thinking about all the other fattening choices but just said to myself, ‘Why am I doing this to myself, just get out of the car and go get Subway TM, you know you’ll be happier you did.’ So I did and the sub was great, but the fact was they had just baked cookies, now I hadn’t planned for that one! I got 3, ate those, my sandwich and chips. Was getting ready to go up and get 3 more cookies, “because they were just so good”, even though I was really full. This girl started cursing and talking about quitting and it seemed to interrupt “the zone” I was in, so I realized I didn’t need it and I left. I am so glad I didn’t get more.” 2-15

Had eaten bad the day before: “I already screwed up yesterday, so I’m just going to eat 3 doughnuts. Then evening came around and since I screwed up again this morning, I ate Kentucky Fried Chicken TM!” 2-18

“Went into gas station to get water, brain thought about getting something sweet. I said, ‘No, you don’t need that. Get gum if you want it that bad.’ I’m so glad I didn’t get anything!” 2-19

“I wanted something sweet, BAD, so I had my new healthy alternative, Luna bar TM. These things are great!” 2-20

I had just eaten a huge lean chicken fajita wrap: “I really only needed half of that. Next time, I’m going to cut in half, put it away and only eat half of it.” 2-20

Actually did cut it in half this time: “Yes, I did it. It wasn’t all that hard to do. I’m so glad I don’t feel so full, I feel great!” 2-21

Last time I was at my friend’s house, I pigged out on Tostitos TM and salsa, but this time: “I had thoughts about eating those chips again, but I just ignored it. The urge went away; it wasn’t very hard to do that.” 2-22

“Walked past cookie dough at store, just said, ‘No!’ I’m so glad I did!” 2-24

“Man, I just ate 6 doughnuts. I feel so full and disgusting. I’ve got to stop this insanity!” 2-26

Over the whole day, I had eaten almost 4000 calories, and 200 grams of fat! “I saw a sign that said, ‘What are you giving up for lint?’ I got all fired up because I wanted to give up bad foods. So I decided I would start tomorrow and go on a binge today. I started off with 4 donuts and now I’m thinking about what to have for lunch. My mouth is watering just thinking about it! I’m really ready to be over this and stop acting like such a child. Well, mission accomplished, I just pigged out at Chili’s TM on a huge order of steak nachos and chicken crispers. I am so disgustingly full I was practically gagging on the last bite; I even had to spit it out, because I felt like I was going to throw up! These dumb food addictions! I desire it thinking its going to give me something it’s not. All I’m left with is feeling disgustingly full and sad. What is it that I am looking for or running from? Why is it that when I KNOW it is bad for me, I continue to eat it? I believe that once I’m past these addictions I will have so much revelation about it, write a book and many people will be set free!” 2-28

“Went to my sister’s today, I wouldn’t even let myself look in the fridge. Once I made that decision, it wasn’t too hard to forget about what food might be in the fridge.” 3-1

“I went to the store today and did not compromise one bit. I looked at all of the labels and didn’t buy anything with partially hydrogenated oil, high fructose corn syrup, salt, sugar or dairy. I’m so glad. On the way home, my old way of thinking thought about having fried chicken tenders but remembered my commitment, and said no. So I started to think of all the other new delicious things I could eat and I started desiring those. I had this awesome healthy meal. I’m real happy and I love the way I’m starting to eat now. It really makes me feel good.” 3-3

“I was really hungry when I got up this morning. I had two cups of Kashi TM (only 50 grams of carbs). I really wanted more but made myself stop, then a few minutes later I realized I was fine. I’m glad I stopped!” 3-3

“Wow! What an awesome meal! I had angel hair pasta with sautéed onions, portabella mushrooms, sesame seeds and a little sesame oil with soy sausage. It’s amazing how great this healthy stuff can taste if you know how to cook it.” 3-4

“I ate another delicious healthy meal (soy meatballs with pasta, spaghetti sauce and soy parmesan cheese), but afterwards I realized I was pretty full, so next time I’ll only have one slice of bread (instead of 2) and a ½ tablespoon of soy butter instead of 1.” 3-3

“First time leaving church today and not getting donuts (I was getting them every time for a couple months). I just keep telling myself no refined sugar anymore, so I’ll have a Cliff Bar TM instead. It was pretty easy.” 3-4

“Went into break room (ironically of the gym I work at as a personal trainer) and there was this huge fresh lasagna someone made and French bread with cheese on it. I said no meat, so I didn’t touch the lasagna although I wanted it. But I did let myself have 2 pieces of French bread. My stomach really hurt afterwards, since I haven’t had dairy in a while.” 3-5

“What happened? I drove by Dairy Queen TM and just wanted a parfait, and said forget it, I don’t care, I’m eating it. I didn’t even try and stop myself. I feel gross and bedazzled of what the heck just happened of why I just went and ate that junk.” 3-6

Are YOU addcited to sugar? Take the quiz to find out but come back and finish these journal entries.

“I had a difficult night last night, and realized I already messed up the day before, so I deserve these donuts (I had 3). When lunch came around, my brain started to pull that tune again. But, thank God, I said, ‘NO! I do care.’ And I ate what I brought for lunch. I’m so glad I’m back on track, hallelujah! What will I do next time I want ‘something sweet’? Say NO refined sugar and have a healthy back up.” 3-7

“I’m hungry right now and I know my guards can tend to be down when I’m hungry. I want to go to the grocery to get soymilk for cereal, but I’m afraid I’ll get other stuff. I hate it because right now I feel even my guards are down for eating sugar and meat. (Some time passes). Praise God! It was just a phase. I had some bread and low fat peanut butter and I was fine. He is helping me to remember that those experiences are all a part of getting off certain addictions and getting out of old habits. I remember saying to myself when I was having those cravings, ‘Right now I don’t feel like anything can stop me from eating bad.’ And I was reminded, ‘Nothing but the power of God.’ I remember when I quit smoking, the first week I sometimes felt seemingly ‘unbearable’ urges but I just kept reminding myself it was just a passing phase and the urges would go away and eventually diminished all together. Just like with these useless food cravings.” 3-7

“I was thinking of what to have for lunch and thought about Subway TM, but realized I wasn’t ready to be tempted if they had just baked cookies. So, I went to this Chinese place and got a veggie stir fry which was delicious. But, a free drink came with it and I gave into a soda, another 250 calories. Stupid decision. That stuff was steaming hot and I was so controlled by urge to eat it right now I burnt my tongue! Although I did wait a couple minutes (small form of control) I still ate if even though it was too hot. I don’t like being controlled by food.” 3-8

“One of my clients mentioned chicken wings. I can’t get that stupid thought out of my mind. I know I don’t want the fat but my mouth is watering just thinking about it. What to do? There is a part of me that says, ‘Screw it, what’s the big deal? You’re working out and doing cardio tonight.’ (some time passes) Well the desire went away, praise God!” 3-12

“Well it looks like it got me today. How gross and disgusting those wings looked and the flavor was definitely nothing like I remember; it was pretty gross and I feel really gross after eating them. Why can’t I stop at times? I already screwed up so then I ate a stupid Oreo TM Blizzard TM!” 3-13

“Knew I needed to eat cereal before I left for work so I wouldn’t be tempted to buy donuts. I have been driving by the place everyday now and just saying, ‘No!’ in my mind and now it’s very easy to do. Just say no and you won’t be tempted anymore.” 3-14

“I went into the convenience store to get food because I wasn’t prepared with my snacks. I looked at the items and all the fat they had, realized I didn’t want that fat, so I got honey mustard pretzels instead. I am so glad I did.” 3-16

“Today, I met with my Pastor to talk about having more victory with this, and we prayed about it.” 8-6

“My stomach hurt all day today with sharp pain cramps. It had to have been from the Taco BellTM I had 2 days ago.” 8-10

“Well, God is still working on me, because I am so conscious about it every time I do it now, but I know it won’t happen overnight. I had donuts again and then fries at Wendy’s TM later.” 8-11

“I felt horrible after eating Dairy Queen TM again, about 1,000 calories. I think I’ll just have a Peppermint Patty TM next time I crave sweets. Yeah, it’s refined sugar but at least it’s not all those calories.” 8-14

“I was on my face crying today for the Lord God to help me with this. I’m realizing I have got to treat this stuff like an addiction.” 8-15 (After having McDonalds TM for breakfast and Chili’s TM later totalling at least 5000 calories between the two)

“I knew I was going to the mall today, where I ‘always’ go to the cookie place and eat like 5-7 cookies. This time when I ate them, it was hard because I was totally aware that I was sinning, feeding this addiction. I was so conscious of it I threw half of them out! I realized that sugar is all an illusion; it’s not all it’s made out to be. God has already given me all the tools I need to be set free, I just have to use them. Pray and lean on Him in those times. This stuff has really started to taste different to me now. I am sick and tired of refined sugar; it’s a liar, and it’s my enemy!” 8-16

“God has really been doing a lot in me; I don’t even feel tempted to eat fast food on the way home. It just isn’t even an option anymore. It feels great! I’ve been doing a lot of research on how addictive refined sugar and refined carbs can be. I’m feeling relieved to know that I must have been caught in this trap of addiction.” 10-23

If you want read about my walk with God, click here, but come back to this page to finish these journal entries, you will be glad you did. : )

“Wow, I have been eating really healthy, God has really been changing me, He’s really been setting me free.”10-24

“I have had tons of energy lately. I had a fruit smoothie this morning and man, I feel great!” 10-25

“Saw a commercial about an old craving, I had an old thought of reacting to temptation, but said, ‘No, that is the old me’ and went and ate something in the kitchen. I’m so glad I didn’t follow that old temptation!” 10-28

“I am so excited because I have successfully been at my girlfriend’s house without eating this ice cream & chocolate sauce she has in the freezer. I was not able to do this a couple of months ago. After a couple of times of not eating it, it has become easier and easier; now I don’t even think about it!” 10-30

“On my way home from work I had a craving for ‘something sweet’. My old thought came about donuts and I had started to see it (in my mind) and taste it. Then I said, ‘If I’m going to do that I’ll just go to the mall and get those cookies!’ Then I snapped out of this old trance and realized where I had allowed my thoughts to go. I screamed “NO, NO, NO!” really loud in my truck! I prayed for God’s help and leaned on Him and the craving totally went away, immediately! Yes! Praise God! He really does leave me a way out; I just have to lean on Him.” (No temptation has overtaken you except which is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it. [1 Corinthians 10:13]) 10-31

“Wow! I am so excited for how I have been eating now! This is the longest I have ever gone eating totally healthy. Until now I had never gone more than about 48 hours. I feel amazing!” 11-1

“They had lots of delicatessen cheesecake and cookies in the fridge at work today for a party. The old me sat back there and had 3 pieces of cheesecake, plus lots of cookies. But the new me saw that stuff in the fridge and said, “Nope. That’s the old me, I don’t want that junk in my body!” Man, what a rush to be able to do that. Praise God!” 11-29

“It’s so awesome! I don’t even have ANY desire to eat unhealthy, it is awesome. I am not even tempted AT ALL to respond to commercials or foods that may be around me.” 12-5
